Adult Programs FAQ
Do I need to be a member to participate in Wessen ITC group programs?
Wessen ITC group programs are open to everyone. You do not need to become a member of the club to play in our groups. Membership is mainly for reserving court time to play on your own, however one advantage of being a member is that members do not have a deadline for the 10% Early Bird discount. Members get a 10% discount on all programs offered indoors during the Fall/Winter/Spring.
I missed the deadline for the Early Bird discount. Can I still get 10% off on my registration?
We offer the 10% Early Bird discount to encourage early registration. This helps us to organize our classes with the correct number of courts and instructors. The discount has a strict deadline, and we do not offer the 10% off beyond the deadline. Our desk staff is not able to change the price. EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT Members are the only exception. Members do not have a deadline for the 10% discount.
What is a session?
Our programs are separated into sessions. Session lengths vary and are noted in the description. Sessions are based on the high school varsity tennis and public school calendar. We do not base our sessions on religious holidays. If your religious holiday compels you to miss a class, you can make the class up by requesting a makeup through out website.Request Makeup Make-up Policy
What is priority registration?
For our Fall II, Winter and Spring sessions, we offer priority registration for current students that want to sign up for the same class.
“PRIORITY REGISTRATION: Students enrolled in a class have an opportunity to register for the following session ahead of the general public. This is for same-class, same-time, same-day only. The priority to register in advance ends after the first full week of each session, when at that time the classes for the following session will be open for everyone to sign up.”
If you are a new student, you can register for classes as soon as registration is open to the general public. The registration dates are noted on the home page of our website.
I tried to sign up for the same class for next session, but the registration page says that the class is full. What can I do?
For our Fall II, Winter and Spring sessions, we offer priority registration for current students that want to sign up for the same class. We communicate the priority registration dates via email, and we also advertise the dates on the home page of our website. If it is important for you to keep the same day/time for your class, please register during the priority registration period! After the priority registration deadline passes, the classes are open to the general public on a first-come, first-serve basis. At this point, we cannot override the class limits to keep players in the same class. So please, don’t wait until the last minute to register. If you are unsure as to whether or not you should move into a different level, please ask the instructor.
The instructor recommended that I move into a different level class. Why can’t I get priority registration? What should I do?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer priority registration when a current student wants to change classes. Fortunately, if you are a current student, you can let us know in advance, we will put you on a wait list to be added immediately after the deadline. There is no guarantee, however at this point we have never had to turn away a student in this position. Up until now, there has always been a spot available. This may not, however, be the case if you wait to register a couple of days after the deadline. So please, if you are serious about getting a certain day/time, call the club 248-253-9300, or visit the front desk to get on the wait list. As soon as the priority registration deadline expires, you will be added to the class. – Remember, this is for current students only! New students will need to wait until registration opens to the general public.
I don’t remember my user name or password to register online. What should I do?
Your user name is the email address that you used initially used to register. If you do not remember your password, or you don’t think you ever had a password, you can request a password using your email address REQUEST PASSWORD If you are still having trouble, just give us a call at the club, and we will be happy to help!
I know that I am going to miss a couple of classes due to a prior obligation. Can I get a discount for classes missed?
If you are going to be missing classes at the BEGINNING of a session, we can prorate the fee to begin the second week of the session. Anything further than that, you will need to wait to register when you are able to participate. If you are going to miss classes in the middle or end of a session, you will not be prorated. Wessen ITC offers opportunities for one makeup class per session, which can be scheduled online through our website. Makeup classes are not guaranteed and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please not that our desk staff cannot change this policy. Makeup Policy Request Makeup
I signed up for a class, but I changed my mind. Can I get a refund?

I started class a few weeks ago, but now I am injured. What happens now?
If you cannot finish your session due to an injury, we will gladly offer you “Club Credit” to be used at a later date. Credits can also be extended to other members of the family. Please be sure to call and let us know about the injury. Club Credit will begin from the date you have notified the Club, however if it is the same day as your class, the credit will begin the following week. Refund Policy
I think I signed myself up for the wrong level. What should I do?
If you are worried about whether or not you should move up or down a level, please talk to the tennis coach to find out if you should switch to be a different class. Our pros are generally very proactive in moving students into the proper level – it is better for all of the students when classes are semi-consistent in level.
